The purpose of life

The purpose of life

(Muhammad Asadullah Blandavi, Research Fellow at Institute of Modern Thought)

In the Arabic language, it is a noun derived from the ternary plural, which means character, character, personal attribute, and character. The mind moves towards the character and motto. But according to the Arabic language and this word, it is applied to the circumstances and character of every person. In general, it is also used by the scholars for the time. For example, the word hadith is generally used to refer to the conversation of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, but the Arabs use this word for “new” and “general conversation” (such as hadith mutal’asim). But whenever absolutely If the biography is mentioned, it means the biography of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Imam Muhammad Gharnati in his book “Al-Noor Al-Mubin” records this as a testament that it is very important to study the biography. In the same way as hadiths are read, the biography of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should be read. Along with this, it is necessary to know the events of the Salaf and to know their details. What will we gain from knowing the stories of the Salaf? The biggest benefit of reading the biography will be that the character of the great people will be known and the actions of the bad people will be known in order to act on them and avoid them.

By studying the lives of scholars and saints, a person firstly gets to know about the scholars and on the other hand, the practical path is paved for him. Allama Sakhavi has written in “Al-Ilan Balturikh” that the person who does not know the conditions of the scholars is in great negligence and according to Allama Sakhavi, this person’s fault is that he shows ignorance of the scholars.

By reading the events of the previous people, a person can understand the thoughts and thoughts of the time and understand what causes such and such thinking and such and such situations indicate and what were their results. Which causes the maturity and positive thinking of a family and society with the benefit of a person. Provided that the reader examines the situation well and is aware of the events of the time. How to live in difficult situations. How to keep yourself in situations of satisfaction.

All these goals are known to us from Sir Salaf. This is a connection and continuity that goes back to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). If we leave them and see the prosperity of life as implied in some other path, then this is an inextricable cord, because what is best for man is what Allah has determined and reached us through revelation. The light of mere intellect and experience only leads to darkness
